Commented Issue: The latest source code does opening in vs 2008. [13415]

The latest source code does not opening compeletely. First on click of sln file the project starts converting and then a lot of projects in the solution give error saying could not open project. The log does not specify any information. Any help will be appreciated.

i get this error in VS 2008 or 2010 when i trying to rebuild the source code for the MLG. I convert the source code to a VS 2010, make the correct reference and change the framework to a 3.5 to solve the missing assambly references (to the dlls in the lib folder) but after solving all this errors when it ask me to run the cab.ddf for the LGUtilitiesInstallerHelper proyect i get all this errors messages:

The MLG is hard coded for US English language (1033).

This means it can only be installed on OS and MOSS installed using US English language. If you have a system in any other language, you get "Permissions" errors when trying to add the MLG web parts to a portal.

Is this right? I mean does MLG only works out-of-the-box under English-MOSS? If so, I would be happy to help out creating an Spansih-localized language pack for it... I'm not a pro, but with a little guiadance I can do it.

Commented Issue: My Planner showing events one day after the master calendar

We have installed MLG and all the web parts but when using the My Planner web part we notice that all events from SharePoint calendars show one day after the event is scheduled.

We are not using Exchange with MLG at all so we have placed a false web address and domain into the web parts Exchange settings and by doing this the web part now shows. Maybe this could be a check-box if not using Exchange but that doesn't seem to be the issue.

If we then create a calendar under the schools site and create a link to it in the Planner Calendars Store "http://site/schools/school/Lists/Global%20Calendar/calendar.aspx" the My Planner now shows it as an option to be viewed. When selecting the calendar for viewing and then refreshing the view we do get all the events from the master calendar, but they are shown on the wrong day.

We are in -7GMT and all sites are set as such, central admin, ssp, district, school and teachers. We cannot seem to find any way to move the events without changing the original events properties yet when you open the event on the My Planner web part it shows the correct date and time, it is only when viewing on the My Planner web parts default view that the event is on the wrong day.

I've searched the heck out of this issue nothing has worked yet:
Had to delete a subsite(full mlg set) from a parent collaboration portal. Now, I'm trying to recreate the web using the School Portal Template from E-Learning. It keeps giving me an error "failed to

I've uploaded an updated MlgSchool solution which solves this problem. It is that it was trying to recreate the site groups without first checking that they exist. You can download from the 1.1 release page.

Are there any SharePoint groups left over from before. Looking at the stack trace it could be due to it trying to create a group with the same name as one which already exists. Have a look and delete any existing ones which are still hanging around.

If the site collection is in the format http[s]://server/sites/sitecollectionname then you get a FileNotFound exception when you create a site. It appears in the sites list but you get the same error when you navigate to it.

The reason is that the master page url has been set incorrectly. If you programmatically change it to the correct value, then the site will display with no problem.

The offending code is in the master page setter component and probably needs to use server relative urls.

After uploading a file to the Learning objects repository , if i click on the E-learning actions am getting an error as :

This is a bug in SLK. The Compression code in SLK has undergone a rewrite as part of the 64 bit port so I am closing this issue for now, if it reoccurs with the updated SLK 1.3.1 we can reopen it.

Has anybody had issues with MyChildren webpart not being able to connect to AD security groups? If so, could you please tell me how you got round it?

Comments: 64 bit SLK with Observer Role now exists in SLK 1.3.1. Integration between LG and SLK will solve this issue.

Learning Gateway Installation and Configuration manual says that ISA server must be configured to use Basic authentication to authenticate to SharePoint server (section “Create a Publishing Rule for SharePoint Sites”, paragraph 16).

However, it creates problems. Steps to reproduce:
1. Browse to the SharePoint site. ISA server asks for credentials.
2. Provide Administrator’s credentials. You are logged on normally.
3. Edit any page. Click on “Add a Web Part”. The system presents the “Add Web Parts Webpage Dialog”.
4. Select any web part and click Add.
5. An authorization dialog pops up, asking for username and password. If cancelled, the system responds with “not authorized”(HTTP 401) – see 2.bmp.
6. ISA server log shows that anonymous request had been made – see 1.bmp.
7. Note: if you choose to display web parts gallery on the right, and just drag and web parts on the page, everything works without problems.

The problem disappeared when we set that ISA Server must use Windows Integrated authentication (instead of basic) to authenticate to the SharePoint server.

Why is the basic authentication recommended in the manual? Is that just a mistake, or there are other considerations?

Basic Authentication is recommended as the MyPlanner web part makes a web service call to SharePoint for calendar items and also needs the authentication for the call to Exchange.

Really people should be using Kerberos for this, but (probably rightly) this was deemed to complicated for the basic installation.
